The Story Of The Prophet Jonas

When the word of the Lord commands Jonas to journey to Nineveh and warn its people of their wickedness, he chooses to flee instead. Boarding a ship bound for Tharsis, he soon finds himself caught in a terrifying storm that threatens to tear the vessel apart. As the frightened sailors cast lots to discover the cause of their misfortune, Jonas must confront his disobedience and decide what he is willing to sacrifice.

Cast into the raging sea, Jonas appears lost—until the Lord prepares a great fish to swallow him. From the depths, he offers a heartfelt prayer of repentance and hope, trusting that mercy can reach even the darkest place. Delivered back onto dry land, he receives his command once more and travels to Nineveh, where his warning inspires an astonishing response from the people, their king, and the entire city. This memorable biblical tale explores obedience, divine compassion, and the struggle between judgment and forgiveness.
