Description

The story opens on the dazzling, crystal‑clear waters of the Caribbean, where the wreck of the steamship Rhone lies shattered on a reef, its broken hull a stark reminder of the night the sea turned violent. Gaspard Cadillac, a wiry Provençal stoker, and his burly Breton companion Yves are the sole survivors, clinging to a splintered spar as the tide pulls them toward a tiny, sun‑baked islet. Their desperate rescue is tinged with a quiet reverence for the ocean, which seems to pause and watch their struggle.

As the men catch their breath on the sand, they discover the island holds more than just safety—it hides clues to a secret that the sea itself whispers. With the ghost of the Rhone still looming and rumors of hidden treasure stirring in the salty air, Gaspard and Yves must navigate rival factions, strange locals, and their own haunted memories. The opening promises a blend of high‑seas adventure and atmospheric mystery, inviting listeners to set sail on a tale where courage and curiosity are tested against the relentless rhythm of the ocean.
