Description

A once‑celebrated court jester, Lazzaro Biancomonte prowls the marble corridors of Renaissance Italy, desperate to trade his motley for a soldier’s armor. After a daring mission for the notorious Borgia family, he finds himself summoned to the imposing presence of the young Cardinal of Valencia, whose sharp gaze hints at ambitions far beyond the church’s walls. Hopes of redemption rise as Lazzaro dares to imagine a future where his wit, not his foolishness, earns him a place among men of power.

Yet the glittering courts of Pesaro and Rome are rife with intrigue, jealous rivals, and a tempestuous love that threatens to pull him back into the very chaos he seeks to escape. As the cardinal’s plans unfold, Lazzaro must navigate perilous loyalties and the lingering sting of his past, all while wondering whether a single moment of bravery can finally lift the curse of the fool’s garb.
