Description

On a far‑off world of nitrogen snow and liquid hydrogen, a pair of alien newlyweds—Rhadampsicus and Nodalictha—celebrate their seventy‑five‑year marriage in a way no human could imagine. With sixteen eyes and a locomotion of positron blasts, they construct a simple bower, etch their initials in glowing crystals, and settle in to watch the strange display of the star Cetis Gamma. Their gentle curiosity leads them to scan nearby planets, where they first glimpse primitive bipedal beings the couple calls “men.”

Meanwhile, on Earth, farmer Lon Simpson battles a stubborn generator while the Cetis Gamma Trading Company races to harvest the rare thanar leaves that promise a milligram a day of youth. The leaves grow only on the distant Cetis Gamma Two, and legal restrictions on colonization make the venture both lucrative and fraught with shortcuts. As Simpson’s tractor sputters and the corporate plans unfold, the stage is set for a clash of interests that could bind the alien honeymooners and the human world together.

The story weaves these two perspectives, exploring how love and survival intersect across light‑years. As the alien pair watches humanity’s fledgling attempts at space travel, Simpson’s own struggle hints at larger forces shaping the future of both species. Listeners will be drawn into a quiet yet compelling meditation on connection, curiosity, and the hidden ties that bind distant worlds.
