Description

Jacqueline Ralston rides out from the family ranch with confidence, her trusty pony Hotspur at her side and a pocket‑sized rifle hanging from her saddle. The golden plains stretch endlessly, dotted with clover and the distant shimmer of snow‑capped peaks, while the ranch girls—Frieda, Jean, and the ever‑watchful overseer Jim—cheer her daring spirit from the corral. When a misread turn sends her off the familiar trail, the sunset casts long shadows and the quiet of the prairie turns uneasy.

Lost among whispering pines, Jacqueline must summon the practical advice her mentors taught her—like always carrying a match—to stay warm and find her way. A sudden, rough voice and a galloping horse breaking through the trees hint at an unexpected encounter, forcing her to decide whether to trust a stranger or rely on the wits she’s honed on the ranch. The tension of the night and the promise of rescue set the stage for a lively, wholesome adventure that celebrates courage, friendship, and the rugged beauty of the West.
