Description

In the spring of 1750 a thin line of mist clings to the marshes of Chignecto Bay, where French soldiers at the fort of Beauséjour watch British ships limp into the inlet. Young Pierre Lecorbeau, an Acadian teen tasked with delivering milk and cheese, overhears heated debates about burning the nearby village of Beaubassin and the fate of his people. The scene brims with conflicting loyalties, tense whispers, and the looming threat of a midnight raid that could reshape the lives of the Acadian families caught between two empires.

The second tale jumps forward to a small New England town where the Carter brothers find themselves staring at a looming foreclosure. Using a mix of clever engineering, a bit of legal maneuvering, and sheer determination, they set out to overturn the mortgage that threatens their family farm. Their adventure showcases how ordinary ingenuity can confront bureaucratic obstacles, offering a slice of rural resilience and hope.
