The Trailers
In a remote valley tucked away on the Canadian frontier, the tight‑knit settlers of Lonesome Water cling to a proud, self‑sufficient way of life. When their modest herd of wiry pigs proves unfit for the market, the village council tasks the irascible hog reeve, Morgan Fluellyn, with traveling to the bustling town of K‑ville to acquire a superior breed. Along the way he discovers a world of noisy pubs, flower‑adorned hats, and a bureaucratic agricultural society that tests his patience and convictions.
Back home, Fluellyn returns with a massive black Berkshire boar, a creature of impressive lineage but unmistakable stubbornness. The boar’s cantankerous temperament clashes with the farmer’s lofty expectations, setting the stage for a series of humorous attempts to tame the beast and prove the community’s worth. As the struggle unfolds, the story offers a vivid portrait of frontier determination, quirky characters, and the simple yet stubborn pride of a people determined to improve their own lot.
