Description

A tranquil June morning at The Hollies is shattered when the resident postmaster’s daughter, Minnie, and her housekeeper are startled by an unexpected visitor. John Menzies Grant, a young gentleman with a penchant for curiosity, steps into the freshly opened garden only to glimpse a startling scene through an old, recessed window. His polite apology quickly turns into concern as the elderly Mrs. Bates, visibly shaken, hints at deeper unease beneath the genteel façade of the country estate.

From that moment, the seemingly peaceful manor becomes a stage for whispered rumors, hidden motives, and a series of puzzling incidents. As Grant’s polite demeanor draws him deeper into the household’s tangled relationships, the quiet lanes of Sussex begin to echo with hints of mischief and the looming presence of Scotland Yard. Listeners are invited to follow the early clues, meet a cast of colorful locals, and experience the slow‑burning tension that promises a compelling mystery waiting to unfold.
