Description

In this summer adventure the Pony Rider Boys trade the dusty plains of Texas for the rugged hills of Montana. Fresh off a daring cattle drive, Tad, Walter, Ned, and Stacy arrive in Forsythe, ready to swap their retired ponies for a new herd and a mysterious trail that winds through the Black Hills. Guided by the scholarly Professor Zepplin and a local banker eager to fund their quest, the boys set out to trace the forgotten routes once trod by Custer’s troops.

As they mount sturdy horses and head into untamed country, the friends encounter hidden canyons, abandoned mining camps, and whispers of lost treasure along the Old Custer Trail. Their curiosity is matched by a series of puzzling clues—old trail markers, strange footprints, and a cryptic map that hints at a long‑buried secret. With the Montana wilderness testing their courage and teamwork, the boys must rely on their experience and each other to unravel the mystery before the summer ends.
