In the wind‑blown outpost of Tecoma, a lone saloon shares a roof with a half‑closed restaurant, while a depot sits at the edge of a dusty wagon road that stretches to cattle country and distant mines. The town’s only occupants are a handful of rough‑haired cowboys—tall “Hashknife” Hartley, his quick‑grinning sidekick “Sleepy” Stevens, and a weary rider dragged in by a promise of rich, unclaimed land. Their uneasy night begins with a puzzling horse swap and a lingering sense that something’s amiss beneath the dim yellow glow spilling onto the porch.
When a shouted command cracks the quiet, a flash of revolvers erupts and the saloon door swings open on a chaotic standoff. The sheriff and his deputy appear, guns easy on the trigger, while the trio scrambles for cover behind a weather‑worn rock. With tension crackling and loyalties unclear, the riders must decide whether to flee, fight, or uncover the lie that led them to this desolate crossroads.
