Description

A once‑lavish life of a young Irish viscount unravels in a single, startling scene: his own funeral, funded by the public purse. Gerald St. Amande, accustomed to fine wines, fashionable clubs and endless revelry, finds himself cast from the glitter of courtly society into a stark, uncertain future. Determined to understand how his fortunes fell, he sets out on a perilous journey that carries him far beyond the familiar streets of London and Dublin, toward a mysterious “Land of Bondage” where danger and discovery await.

Through the eyes of Joice Bampfyld, a Virginia planter’s daughter, the narrative widens to the harsh realities of colonial life. She confronts the brutal world of slavery, encounters fierce Native warriors, and grapples with loyalty to her family while yearning for something beyond her constrained existence. Their intertwined stories blend romance, adventure, and a vivid portrait of an era on the brink of change, inviting listeners to follow their quest for redemption and belonging.
