Description

On a windswept moor at twilight, a young shepherd named Hal finds himself navigating tangled thickets and treacherous moss while tending his flock. When a plaintive cry pierces the dusk, he discovers a frightened girl from Greystone Priory, lost after a hunting outing gone awry. Hal’s quick thinking and steady hands guide her across a slippery stream, offering shelter for the night in the humble home of the local hog‑ward.

Their uneasy companionship unfolds amid the raw beauty of the hills, revealing Hal’s quiet bravery and the girl’s stubborn pride. As they share a modest meal and exchange stories, the shepherd’s simple world begins to intersect with the mysterious rhythms of the priory and the whispered legends of a reclusive hermit who dwells nearby. Their encounter promises a journey of unexpected friendship and the gentle discovery of hidden strengths within a rugged landscape.
