Description

Stranded on a scorching plain between Herát and Kandahár, a young Persian man and his wife clutch a newborn and two small sons as the relentless sun beats down on the barren landscape. Their once‑comfortable life in Tehran has been shattered by religious strife, forcing them into a desperate trek across hostile ravines toward the legendary court of the Great Mogul. Each step is a battle against thirst, betrayal, and the oppressive silence of a land that promises no relief from the withheld monsoon.

Yet the glimmer of Akbar’s empire—renowned for its splendor and tolerance—offers a faint beacon of sanctuary. As they navigate treacherous passes and confront a harsh desert that seems determined to test their resolve, the family clings to a promise of safety and a belief that destiny may yet favor the faithful. Their journey becomes a vivid portrait of love, endurance, and the perilous quest for a new beginning.
