CHAPTER III - THE GRAVE IN THE SNOW
CHAPTER IV - "WHERE IS MY FLOCK?"
CHAPTER V - "FOR MY MOTHER'S SAKE"
In the frozen heart of the Yukon, a lone traveler named Keith Steadman presses forward across endless snowfields, his breath turning to ice with each step. The relentless creak of his snowshoes is the only sound breaking the white silence as he makes his way toward the mighty river. A solitary dog appears on his trail, first mistaken for a wolf, testing his instinct for caution and compassion. This early encounter sets the tone for a rugged wilderness where every decision can mean the difference between life and death.
Keith finds a stand of fir trees, clears a spot, and builds a fire that crackles against the night’s chill. Using bark and a wolf‑skin he fashions a modest shelter, turning the bleak landscape into a temporary haven. He shares his meager supper of bacon, beans and sourdough with the wary animal, discovering a small, tentative bond that hints at future companionship. Listeners are invited to follow his cautious trek, feeling the bite of the cold and the quiet courage required to survive the untamed frontier.
