Description

The fire crackles in the Three‑Half‑Moons Inn as October wind whistles outside, and a lone stranger takes a seat by the hearth. Soon a small party of travelers gathers, trading stories about Rothbury’s celebrated poets, scholars and its notorious cock‑fighting past. Their banter drifts to the mysterious gypsy bands once called the Faa, whose presence has long haunted the borderlands.

In the hush that follows, the oldest of the group promises a tale of the Faa’s revenge—an episode of pride, betrayal and a dark cleverness that still echoes through the village lanes. Listeners will be drawn into vivid 19th‑century dialogue, atmospheric descriptions of a remote inn, and a hint of danger that lurks beneath folklore. The story promises a blend of local history and suspense, inviting you to imagine what happens when legend steps into the firelight.
