Description

Leopold Bennington and Stumpy are hard‑working boys who make their living on the bustling waters of Penobscot Bay. When a sudden hurricane tosses their small craft into a desperate struggle, they discover that the storm has uncovered more than just tangled rigging—it hints at a long‑forgotten secret hidden among the jagged cliffs of High Rock. Their honesty and determination are tested as they navigate the raging gale, confront a mysterious steward on a lone brig, and grapple with rumors of a treasure long concealed by the fog‑shrouded coastline.

Against a backdrop of roaring seas and dense coastal mist, the boys’ adventure blends daring sailing with keen observation of the land they love. Along the way they meet colorful locals, uncover cryptic clues, and learn that true treasure may be as much about friendship and courage as it is about gold. The story captures the spirit of youthful ambition set amid the ever‑changing tides of a 19th‑century maritime world.
