Description

A restless heir of a once‑great Spanish lineage, fresh from exile and a stint in the Russian army, finds a new obsession in the roar of his prized automobile. He enlists his daring American friend, Dick Waring, to accompany him on a spontaneous drive from Paris to the coastal town of Biarritz, hoping to catch a glimpse of the young King of Spain and his beloved princess.

The journey quickly becomes more than a scenic road trip. As they glide past glittering French seascapes, the narrator wrestles with his family's tangled past, a lingering suspicion from a bomb‑laden Barcelona visit, and the weight of a noble name he can no longer bear. The companionship of Dick, the thrill of early‑twentieth‑century motoring, and the allure of royal intrigue combine to set the stage for a series of escapades that will test loyalty, courage, and the very notion of destiny.
