Description

The sweltering June heat has turned the town into a cracked, silent landscape, and three Camp Fire Girls—Hinpoha, Sahwah, and Migwan—sit listlessly on a veranda, dreaming of cool relief. Their conversation drifts from broken thermometers to the ache of losing their friend Nyoda, each sigh echoing the sense that summer has lost its spark. When a sudden, unexpected rainstorm drenches newcomer Katherine, the girls are jolted from their lethargy, their spirits lifted by the simple miracle of water.

Spurred by the surprise, the trio decides to seize the brief chance for adventure, planning a trip to Ellen’s Isle where a legend of the Seven Cedars beckons. Along the way they must navigate rival camps, hidden clues, and the uneasy feeling that the island holds more than just trees. Their bond and determination promise a summer that might finally restore the joy they thought lost.
