Description

A group of bright‑young men from a New England prep school answer the call of duty, marching from the comforts of home to the muddy front lines of the Argonne. Their training in fairness and determination now meets the brutal reality of trench warfare, where bravery is measured not just by bold deeds but by the willingness to keep fighting even when the odds turn grim.

Back in France, the soldiers reunite on a transport deck, sharing jokes and old nicknames that mask the hardships they’ve endured. Among them, a lieutenant limps with a fresh wound, while a former classmate turned Red‑Cross aide rushes to his side, their bond a lifeline amid the chaos. As they prepare to head toward the next battle, the story captures the mix of youthful optimism, fierce loyalty, and the stark challenges of war that lie ahead.
