The Angel of Thought and Other Poems Impressions from Old Masters

This collection of lyrical poems enters the world of Renaissance and religious art, transforming painted angels, Madonnas, and sacred scenes into meditations on the human spirit. Inspired by works associated with Fra Angelico, Botticelli, and Dürer, the poems linger over moments of wonder, prayer, compassion, and spiritual awakening. Their language is richly sonorous, shaped by sonnets and formal verse.

From the Annunciation and Visitation to portraits of the Madonna and Child, each poem looks beyond the image itself to ask how divine beauty, suffering, and hope may live within ordinary lives. The collection returns often to the power of thought, ideal beauty, and the mysterious bond between humanity and the sacred. Listeners drawn to devotional poetry, art history, and contemplative readings will find a quiet, earnest work that invites them to study familiar masterpieces through the imagination of a poet.
