Description

In a world still buzzing from the triumph of the Great War’s new machines, the skies above the Atlantic have become highways for daring passengers and, lurking in the clouds, a fresh menace: the air pirate. The British government has created an Air Police to protect its glittering fleet of trans‑Atlantic liners, and the public’s confidence hangs on the promise that the terror of sudden raids is finally behind them.

Enter the young, sharp‑witted Sir John Custance, now Chief Commissioner of the Air Police. From his polished Whitehall office he recalls a childhood fascination with flight, a modest inheritance, and a rapid rise through the Royal Flying Corps to command the very service he now polices. With his loyal valet Charles Thumbwood and the enigmatic inventor Mr. Danjuro at his side, Custode begins to piece together a baffling series of mid‑ocean attacks—each more audacious than the last—while the shadowy figure behind them remains just out of reach, promising a chase that will test both his skill and his resolve.
