Description

A young physician named Dr. Graham finds himself alone on a bleak, snow‑laden Christmas day, his thoughts haunted by the loss of his wife and the slow grind of an unpromising career. Though diligent and talented, his modest practice yields few patients, and the festive season only deepens his sense of isolation. The quiet of his office is broken when a well‑dressed stranger, St. Victor Marchand, arrives with a request that offers both a distraction and a hint of mystery.

Marchand asks Graham to accompany him to his ailing sister, promising a case that “requires study” and is far from ordinary. Intrigued yet wary, the doctor steps into the carriage, leaving behind his melancholy routine for a journey that may test his medical skill and curiosity. Listeners are drawn into a story where personal grief meets an enigmatic summons, setting the stage for a compelling exploration of duty, compassion, and the unknown.
