Description

The story opens in the dusty office of Moon River County’s newly elected sheriff, Skeeter Bill, as he wrestles with an odd visitor—a sharply dressed cowboy who claims the silver dollars on the desk are counterfeit. The stranger, Frank Moran, explains that the coins are an uncanny blend of lead, silver and glass, forged somewhere deep in the valley, and hints that the whole operation has eluded federal detectives for months. Skeeter’s deputy, Kaintuck Kennedy, adds his own brand of clumsy humor while trying to roll a cigarette with one hand, setting a light‑hearted tone amid the growing tension.

Together the trio begins to piece together a network of dubious money‑makers, with Moran offering his lone‑wolf expertise and the sheriff’s local knowledge. Their uneasy alliance promises a chase through creaking ranches, hidden forges, and the tangled loyalties of a frontier community, all while the counterfeit dollars change hands faster than a tumbleweed in a storm. Listeners will be drawn into a Western mystery that blends dry wit, rugged camaraderie, and the slow‑burn intrigue of a crime that’s anything but ordinary.
