Description

The story opens aboard a cramped dockside tavern where the newly appointed captain is handed a curious commission. A rotund, flamboyant patron promises a lucrative Arctic run aboard a sleek steamer, but insists the true purpose of the expedition is kept “under seal.” With a wink and a promise of generous pay, the captain is thrust into a plan that feels as opaque as the polar ice itself.

In the next few minutes a motley crew assembles: the gaunt, wheezing Abram Bostock, the grizzled sea‑dog Abinadab “Binny” Scudds, and the eccentric Doctor Curley, each bringing their own quirks and doubts. Their banter crackles like the clatter of icebergs, while the captain must quickly gather first and second mates for a journey that promises seal hunting, harsh weather, and a secret that could change everything. Listeners are invited to set sail with this oddly comic, tightly paced adventure before the true mystery even begins to surface.
