Description

This illustrated narrative in easy verse introduces children to the early life of Paul, beginning with his birth in Tarsus and his careful education in Jewish law and prophecy. Known first as Saul, he is presented as a gifted, learned man whose strong convictions lead him to become a strict Pharisee.

The verses then describe Saul’s fierce opposition to the followers of Jesus. Convinced that the Christian faith is dangerous, he pursues believers, bringing fear and suffering to families and congregations while believing he is defending sacred tradition.

As Saul travels toward Damascus with authority to arrest more Christians, a dazzling light suddenly surrounds him. This dramatic moment begins the great turning point of his life and prepares young readers to follow the transformation of a persecutor into one of Christianity’s most devoted apostles. Written in a simple, rhythmic style, the book makes the biblical story accessible to children and pairs its lessons with vivid scenes designed for illustrated reading.
