Description

In the twilight of an 1885 Roman townhouse, a young violinist finds himself summoned by a dour porter to play for a secretive household. The air is thick with the scent of old stone and whispered expectations, while his instrument seems to protest against the cramped room. With each strained bow stroke he both obeys and resists the invisible rules that bind him to the narrow corridor of the aristocratic residence.

Outside his window, the city hums, yet inside his mind drifts to a frail, golden‑haired niece who lives on the floor above—a girl cloaked in melancholy and the weight of inherited sorrow. The violinist is drawn into a world of reverie where love, duty, and a yearning for heroic escape mingle with the everyday minutiae of servants and sermons. His music becomes a bridge between the stark reality of the house and the soaring fantasies that keep him from surrendering to despair.

The collection unfolds as a series of remarkable yet believable tales, each weaving ordinary lives with a hint of the uncanny. Through music, whispered secrets, and subtle supernatural touches, the stories explore how longing and imagination can transform even the most confined spaces into realms of possibility. Listeners will find themselves orbiting the delicate line between the credible and the extraordinary, guided by vivid characters and richly textured settings.
