Description

In a modest parish hall, a rehearsed concert becomes a battlefield of egos. Tenor Kelton insists on an impossible high note while his piano accompanist, Mozart Tutt, struggles to follow his exacting demands. Around them, a chorus of “bassi,” a nervous curate with a flute, and the rector’s ever‑watchful wife weave a tangled web of humor and modest ambition.

The story follows Morley Quorn and his bewildered companions as they navigate Kelton’s theatrical airs, the clumsy cooperation between singer and pianist, and the subtle power plays of patrons who fund the performance. Through witty dialogue and acute observation, the narrative explores how a seemingly trivial disagreement can spark larger questions about pride, collaboration, and the many paths an ordinary evening might take. Listeners are invited into a lively slice of early‑20th‑century village life, where music and temperaments collide in delightfully unexpected ways.
