CHAPTER VIII.
In the enchanted realm of Pantouflia, a king and queen long for an heir, their palace walls lined with portraits of legendary ancestors—Cinderella, the Marquis de Carabas, even a cat in boots. When their long‑awaited son finally arrives, the court hails him as a marvel, a child destined for greatness. Yet the queen, a skeptic of all things magical, refuses to acknowledge the fairies who have long watched over the royal line.
As the christening approaches, the king insists on inviting the ancient fairy godmothers, while the queen dismisses them as nonsense. Their stubbornness leaves the banquet table set for a hundred guests that never appear, prompting a series of absurd and humorous mishaps. The stage is set for Prince Prigio’s upbringing amid a clash of rationality and whimsy, promising a tale that blends satire, fantasy, and the occasional unexpected twist.
