Description

A young ruler steps into power with a stark vision: the newly crowned Prince Kasimir III has stripped his court of its pomp, banishing haughty courtiers and silencing the customary intrigue. Preferring the quiet of the forest to the glitter of palace life, he spends his days hunting alone, convinced that strength of body and will makes doctors unnecessary. Yet an unexpected fever forces him to confront the limits of his self‑reliance, and the palace murmurs with speculation about who might mend a sovereign so determined to rule without aid.

Facing the peculiar challenge, Kasimir resolves to employ a physician, but he turns away from the two famed city doctors and selects a recent graduate—a modest, freshly minted scholar with little pedigree beyond his doctorate. The choice astonishes the capital, sparking gossip about the prince’s motives and the potential ripple effects on his austere administration. As the new doctor arrives, the court watches closely, wondering whether this partnership will alter the prince’s solitary rule or simply add another layer to the evolving drama of his reign.
