Pictures and Stories

This charming collection of brief stories introduces young listeners to everyday lessons through scenes of childhood, family life, school, and play. Children learn about kindness, responsibility, good manners, self-discipline, gratitude, and respect for people and animals. A girl releases her beloved bird, a poor schoolgirl earns the regard of her neighbors, and children discover how obedience and thoughtful behavior can bring joy to themselves and others.

Alongside these gentle moral tales are lively glimpses of kite-flying, leapfrog, dolls, parties, country errands, garden walks, and early-morning adventures. The stories encourage children to balance study with wholesome recreation, control their tempers, care for others, and appreciate the natural world. Simple, warm, and easy to follow, this collection offers short listening moments well suited to families and young readers.
