PARITTOMAT
HENKILÖT:
In a modestly furnished room of an early‑20th‑century Finnish manor, widowed Anna wrestles with a baffling letter from the estate’s manager, Jaakko. Her nervous servant Kreetta rushes in and out, searching for missing spectacles, letters, and any clue that might make sense of the scramble. Their rapid‑fire dialogue, peppered with misunderstandings and witty retorts, sets a lively, almost slap‑stick rhythm that pulls the listener into the household’s daily chaos.
As more characters filter through the doors—young Liisa, a long‑serving maid, and other village folk—their tangled motives and petty grievances begin to surface. Small secrets about love, duty, and the ever‑present fear of scandal bubble to the surface, turning ordinary chores into comedic confrontations. The play captures the fragile balance between propriety and desire, promising plenty of laughter as Anna’s world teeters on the edge of order and uproar.
