Description

On a bleak mining outpost orbiting a distant Jupiter moon, a rag‑tag crew of Earthmen, Martians and other exiles scrape radite ore under the iron fist of Marnick, a cruel overseer whose very laughter is a weapon. The prisoners live in constant fear, their lives measured by the grinding rhythm of drills and the ominous hum of the central shaft that brings the tyrant’s gaze down upon them. When a supply ship arrives and finds the overseer dead, the survivors stumble upon a hastily scrawled confession that hints at a simmering rebellion.

Among the hardened workers, a fierce, grudging camaraderie forms as they plot a daring retaliation. McGowan, a bruised but defiant miner, vows a “special revenge” that could turn the tables on their tormentor. As the echo of Marnick’s maniacal laughter fades, the prisoners must decide whether to seize the moment and strike, or remain shackled by fear. The story builds a tense, claustrophobic atmosphere that pulls listeners into a fight for dignity on an alien world.
