Description

A young American engineer drops into the bustling heart of New York after months abroad, only to discover a mysterious marriage license tucked in a stranger’s coat. Impulsively he tracks down the woman named on the paper, a spirited socialite whose fiery temperament clashes with her English‑born father. Their whirlwind wedding, a punch‑filled showdown with a jealous rival, and a lavish banquet attended by the city’s police chief set the stage for a night that feels both chaotic and oddly romantic.

Meanwhile, a seasoned New Yorker and his affluent companion wander the glittering streets, trading jokes about the city’s endless skyline and betting on who could navigate the avenues blindfolded. Their banter offers a vivid snapshot of early‑20th‑century Manhattan—its elevated railways, smoky cab rides, and the promise of limitless opportunity. As the protagonists’ lives intersect, listeners are drawn into a fast‑moving tale of chance encounters, daring decisions, and the electric pulse of a city that never sleeps.
