Description

In a dimly lit Boston study, an aging war veteran wrestles with the weight of his past and the future of his family. Uncle John Raven, a man shaped by the brutal front lines and now haunted by the ordinary world, summons his nephew, Richard, to discuss a heavy transfer of duties—one that will force the younger man into a role he has never imagined. Their conversation is tangled with memories of ambulance work, lingering doubts about age and purpose, and the quiet ache of a life that feels both exhausted and unfinished.

Enter Annette, the strong‑willed young woman who has captured both men’s hearts, her presence a catalyst for unspoken tensions. As she arrives, the house—unchanged since Raven’s early prosperity—becomes a stage for a fragile, intimate exchange where loyalty, love, and the looming responsibilities of post‑war life intersect. Listeners will find themselves drawn into the quiet drama of a family at a crossroads, feeling the pull of duty and desire in equal measure.
