Description

Amelia Maxwell has spent the better part of her forty years living in the quiet shadow of a grand, pale‑yellow house that dominates the countryside. By day she mends and braids rags for the elderly Lady Knowles, while evenings find her gazing out the front‑chamber window, recalling the childhood wonder the house once inspired. Though her family is gone and a long‑lost romance lingers only in memory, the house and its garden remain her sanctuary, a place where ordinary tasks feel like small triumphs.

One autumn morning the gate swings shut and a stranger appears on the path—a tall, wiry man with light hair and blue eyes who recognises Amelia instantly. It is Jared Beale, a figure from her youth who vanished twenty years ago, now standing at the threshold of the home she has tended for so long. Their unexpected reunion hints at possibilities that could stir the still‑steady rhythm of Amelia’s life, inviting listeners to wonder whether the past will finally catch up with her.
