Description

In bustling Hackney, the Strong household is a miniature museum of distant seas—colorful shells, exotic feathers, and polished armors that whisper of Captain Strong’s long voyages. Yet behind the polished décor, sixteen‑year‑old Mark feels restless, yearning to trade his studies for the rolling horizon his father dismisses as monotonous toil. His mother, caught between the captain’s stern expectations and her son’s yearning, offers quiet encouragement, while the captain insists that a sailor’s life is nothing but endless decks and danger.

When Mark finally begs to join his father’s next expedition, the family’s uneasy balance is tested. The promise of an uncharted isle beckons, stirring both excitement and fear, and forces the young man to confront the clash between filial duty and his own thirst for adventure. As preparations begin, the stage is set for a journey that will challenge loyalties, reveal hidden wonders, and ask whether a heart bound to home can ever truly set sail.
