Description

The story opens amid the turmoil of Reformation England, where a stern act of uniformity forces dissenting ministers and laypeople alike into a dangerous underground. Faced with imprisonment and even death, a determined group of Puritans resolves to seek a new life beyond the sea, plotting a perilous escape from the hostile courts of King James. Their journey begins in the cramped streets of Amsterdam, where hope flickers against the backdrop of exile and uncertainty.

From the bustling docks of Delft Haven, the fledgling pilgrims set sail for an unknown world, braving storm‑tossed waters and the harsh winter that awaits them across the Atlantic. Among them is the formidable Miles Standish, a military man whose leadership will soon shape the fledgling colony’s survival. As the ship cuts through the waves, the narrative captures both the fierce resolve of these early settlers and the looming challenges of an untamed New England wilderness.
