Description

Lord Lister, the suave gentleman thief who slips between aristocratic charm and razor‑sharp intellect, decides a brief respite is overdue after a daring escapade in London. He fashions a leisurely route through Paris to the Italian Riviera, hoping the sun‑lit coast will quiet his restless blood. Yet even in the elegance of Rapallo, his mind drifts to the cat‑and‑mouse game with Scotland Yard’s Inspector Baxter.

A terse telegram summons Lister to Florence, where the director of the royal museums claims a matter of utmost urgency. Intrigued and eager to test his wits, he heads to the historic city, ready to masquerade as the very detective he often evades. With the grand galleries as his backdrop, the stage is set for a sophisticated caper that will pit his cunning against art, intrigue, and the ever‑watchful eye of the law.
