Description

Set against the breezy backdrop of Penobscot Bay, the tale follows a headstrong youngster known as “Little Bobtail.” Raised amid the privileged circles of a New England yacht club, he is drawn to the thrilling life on the water, dreaming of daring voyages and the camaraderie of seasoned sailors. His sharp eye for adventure quickly lands him in the middle of a local rivalry that pits two powerful families against one another, framing the story’s first act with tension and intrigue.

When a chance encounter pulls the boy into a dubious smuggling scheme, he must decide whether to follow the lure of easy profit or uphold the deeper values of duty and honesty that his mentors cherish. As a sudden storm threatens the schooner Penobscot, Little Bobtail’s courage is tested, revealing the making of a true hero. Listeners will be swept up in vivid nautical scenes, heartfelt family drama, and the timeless lesson that integrity outweighs fleeting riches.
