Description

Set along the rocky banks of the Abitibbé, a secluded valley known to the local tribes as the Champ‑Rouge cradles a fragile peace between wandering Huron‑Iroquois bands and a small group of Canadian pioneers. The landscape is described in vivid detail, its cliffs and clear waters echoing the ancient stories of the peoples who have long guarded its secrets. An uneasy alliance, brokered by the Iroquois chief Griffe‑d’Ours, promises the settlers land and trade in exchange for wheat and buffalo hides, hinting at a deeper, unspoken motive that ties the valley to the legend of Montcalm’s lost treasure.

When the pioneers celebrate Saint‑Eustache with a barrel of fire‑water, the revelry quickly spirals into chaos. Intoxicated warriors break into a frenzied dance, their tomahawks flashing as old grievances surface, and a sudden, brutal attack shatters the fragile truce. In the blood‑stained aftermath, the missing chief and the whispered promise of hidden riches leave both sides haunted, setting the stage for a tense quest that will echo through the valley’s rugged silence.
