A curious child discovers a three‑paneled mirror in his bedroom and, mesmerized, watches himself shift between profile, frontal and rear views. The reflections feel both familiar and alien, prompting his parents to warn him against over‑examining his own image and the images of others. Through these early musings the story already hints at a deeper question: how much of ourselves can ever be truly known?
Soon the child summons his eccentric friend Cigogne, a lanky figure who balances on a single leg beneath a twisted, dead tree. Cigogne’s odd appearance—crooked nose, bright eyes, a silent confidence—contrasts with the bewildering atmosphere of the mirror’s reflections, suggesting that the strange may hide unexpected insight. Their playful exchanges set up a delicate balance between humor and philosophical intrigue, inviting listeners to explore the thin line between perception and reality.
