Description

After the war the tiny town of Monegaw Springs hums with life, its famed mineral waters drawing a wild assortment of soldiers, travelers, and locals. Tents and modest cabins line the streets while saloons echo with poker, faro, and the clatter of gunfire that punctuates nightly revelry. In this makeshift resort, families mingle, romances spark, and a restless energy drives men to gamble both money and honor.

Into that feverish atmosphere rides the notorious Jesse James, cloaked in fine clothing rather than the usual rough gear, accompanied by his three trusted companions. Though the town bustles with carefree crowds, the gang moves with a calculated calm, concealing pistols and knives beneath their pockets as they plot a daring raid on the Ste. Genevieve Bank. Detectives begin to close in, setting the stage for a tense game of wits, daring chases, and a showdown that will test every participant’s resolve.

A shadowy name from the dime-novel era, this writer is chiefly remembered for fast-paced Jesse James adventures issued by Arthur Westbrook Co. in Cleveland. Very little biographical information appears to survive, which only adds to the pulp-era mystery.
