In the dusty outskirts of Yellow Rock County, the lanky cowboy Chuck Warner battles more than just a bucking bronco. After a rough ride leaves him limping, he shuffles back to the post office, where a stack of oddball mail—catalogues, half‑sealed letters, and a peculiar note from a distant friend—promises trouble and a touch of romance. Chuck’s gruff humor and his habit of chewing the scenery make the everyday chores of a Western town feel like a lively dance.
As the mail‑order “Shepherd’s Bibles” tumble from his saddle, Chuck discovers a desperate plea from old Jay Bird Whittaker, urging him to find a cook and even consider marriage before his days run out. The townsfolk—Paddy the postmaster, the quick‑witted Doc Milliken, and the larger‑than‑life Muley Bowles—join the banter, but each new parcel seems to hide a secret that could upend the ranch’s simple routine. Listeners are invited to ride along as Chuck wrestles with stubborn horses, stubborn letters, and the promise of a new future for his aging friend.
