LEILA
In a dim, cramped room on a Helsinki street, a sixteen‑year‑old girl named Leila tries to keep a shaky sense of normalcy as she prepares to lay her mother to rest. The stage is filled with the smells of damp walls, an unlit brick oven, empty beer bottles and a small lamp that barely pushes back the darkness. Leila beckons her friend Nanna inside, offering a nervous explanation that the “dead” in the room is nothing more than a sealed coffin and the vermin that lurk nearby.
