Description

A bright‑eyed sixteen‑year‑old on the cusp of graduation, Irma feels the pull of both school and the promise of adventure. When her aunt and uncle invite her on a spring passage to Italy, she must weigh exams, friendships, and the thrill of stepping into the world she has only read about. Her hometown friends tease and worry, but Irma’s curiosity about ancient Rome, the art of Florence and the canals of Venice outweighs the familiar routine.

The story follows Irma’s first weeks abroad, from the bustling port of Naples to the sun‑kissed streets of Perugia, where history comes alive beneath her feet. As she wanders through ruins, piazzas and grand cathedrals, the young traveler keeps a vivid diary, noting the colors, sounds and the sense of wonder that each new landscape brings. Listeners will share her delight in seeing the past unfold and feel the gentle tension of a teenager balancing duty with discovery.
