Description

In a fog‑shrouded Venusian café, a weary Terran hunter named Regan is approached by the enigmatic Mrs. Holloway, a rich woman with a taste for the ultimate sport. She offers a generous fee to track down the legendary red roebuck, a creature considered sacred by the native Venusians, and insists that the job will be simple because the Preserve lacks guards. Faced with empty pockets, a crumbling shack, and the promise of a fresh start, Regan wrestles with the growing unease of hunting a being that the locals almost revere as divine.

The uneasy partnership propels them into the alien wilderness, where Regby’s expertise is tested against unfamiliar terrain, dangerous wildlife, and the cultural weight of disturbing a holy animal. As the sun rises on the day of the hunt, Regan must decide whether the lure of money outweighs the moral cost of becoming a god‑killer, all while the violet‑tinged mist of Venus presses in, hinting at consequences far beyond a simple trophy.
