His Sacred Family
In a small winter-bound town, Constance Holt feels every disapproving glance as she leaves church beside her fiancé, Lynn. Their engagement should be a promise of happiness, but Lynn’s family is troubled by Constance’s mother, whose friendship with Lynn’s cousin John Barse has become the subject of pointed whispers. While Constance longs for peace, her mother refuses to apologize for living according to her own rules.
Lynn is kind, honest, and deeply attached to his family, yet his loyalty leaves Constance caught between affection and pressure to conform. As John prepares to leave town, the gossip may quiet—but the questions it has raised about love, age, respectability, and family duty will not disappear so easily. Set within the watchful world of churchgoing neighbors and tightly held social expectations, this thoughtful domestic drama follows a young woman trying to decide what kind of life, and what kind of marriage, she truly wants.
