A young, hard‑working fisherman’s life is built around the sea and his deep love for his devoted wife, Annie. When a promising opportunity takes him aboard a merchant vessel, he departs with hopeful hearts, promising to return and provide a better future for the two of them. The couple’s quiet coastal home blooms with simple joys, making his absence feel like a brief pause in their shared rhythm.
A sudden storm drives the ship onto treacherous rocks, leaving the crew scattered and the vessel presumed lost. Amid the wreckage, the sailor clings to survival, battling cold, hunger and the relentless tide. Though the world believes him dead, his thoughts remain fixed on Annie and the promise he made, spurring him onward through an arduous trek back to the familiar shore.
