Walter is a young man whose whole heart belongs to his violin. He first tries to serenade his sleeping mother and then his busy father, only to be gently shushed each time. Undeterred, he sets off across forests and hills, hoping the world beyond his farm will hear the music that flows from his soul.
In the bustling city he attempts street performances, but a stern official forces him to stop. When he learns of a grand ball at the town hall, he is invited to join the musicians, only to discover that the lively crowd prefers louder, more boisterous tunes. Walter’s tender melody is cut short, leaving him convinced that his music belongs among the humble folk of the countryside. He decides to travel back to the fields, where simple hearts might finally hear his true voice.
