Description

In a moonless, mist‑shrouded night, a silent American squadron slips toward a heavily fortified enemy port. The tiny torpedo‑boat No. 5, guided by a seasoned commander, is chosen to lead a daring strike through the narrow entrance, while six battleships and four cruisers hold the line behind. The plan hinges on secrecy and speed; any early detection could spell disaster for the whole expedition.

Inside the cramped wheelhouse, a young lieutenant and his fresh-faced ensign confront the stark reality of combat for the first time. Their thoughts drift to childhood prayers and the calm of earlier naval reviews, now replaced by the cold steel of steel‑capped hulls and the thrum of engines at twenty‑five knots. The tension is palpable as they peer through tiny apertures, searching the darkness for the first hint of the harbor’s defenses.

The narrative captures the electric mix of youthful idealism and grim duty, immersing listeners in a vivid, suspense‑filled snapshot of naval warfare on the brink of conflict.
